A mentoring partnership will only be successful if both the mentor and mentee have a growth mindset. The mentor should believe that the mentee can learn and grow. The mentee should also believe that they can learn and grow with the advice and guidance of their mentor. Good mentors demonstrate this commitment by investing the time necessary to make their mentees successful. It is not the quantity of time spent with 2 mentees that counts, but the quality of time. Good mentors are conscious of this fact, and constantly look for ways to increase the capacity of their mentees.
